Grudge 恩怨
Whenever New Fa Zheng receives two or more cards from another person, he can let them draw one card. For each unit of damage that another character causes New Fa Zheng, he can force the source to give him one of their hand cards or suffer one unit of negligence damage.

Dazzle 眩惑
During New Fa Zheng's drawing phase, he can forego drawing two cards from the deck and instead force another character to draw two cards. New Fa Zheng then chooses one character in the target's attacking range. The target then must attack this character. If they do not, New Fa Zheng can select two of their cards and place them in his hand.
Clarification:
  • Note that "Grudge" is not enforced. When another character gives New Fa Zheng two cards, he does not have to allow them to draw one card. Likewise, he does not have to force a character that causes him damage to give him a card.
  • New Fa Zheng can activate "Grudge" to let another character to draw one card only when they give New Fa Zheng two of their cards. This does not include cards that other characters allow New Fa Zheng to draw two or more cards from the deck. For example, if New Fa Zheng is allowed to draw two or more cards via Xun Yu's "Eternal Loyalty," New Fa Zheng cannot activate "Grudge" to allow him to draw one card because these cards were not owned by Xun Yu. However, when Liu Bei gives two cards to New Fa Zheng via "Kindness," New Fa Zheng can activate "Grudge."
  • Note that the retaliatory function of "Grudge" activates on a 'per-damage' basis. For example, if New Fa Zheng receives two units of damage in one instance, he can activate "Grudge" twice. The target must then give New Fa Zheng two hand cards or suffer one unit of negligence damage for each hand card that was not given.
  • Note that when New Fa Zheng targets a character that damages him with "Grudge," the target chooses the hand card to give to Fa Zheng.
  • Note that if New Fa Zheng targets another character with "Dazzle" and they do not attack the character that he chooses, Fa Zheng can take any of their cards, equipped or in their hand. He cannot, however, take pending delay tool cards.
  • Note that if the target has no characters in their attacking range, New Fa Zheng can still choose to target them with "Dazzle" and take two of their cards. However, if there is at least one character in the target's attacking range, New Fa Zheng must select that character for this ability.
  • Note that New Fa Zheng can activate "Grudge" when he targets a character with "Dazzle" and lets New Fa Zheng take two of their hand cards. The target would then draw an additional card.
 Strengths Weaknesses
  • "Grudge" and "Dazzle" work very well together. New Fa Zheng can target an ally with "Dazzle" and take two of their cards (if they choose not to attack), then activate "Grudge" to allow them to draw an additional card. This results in a net increase of cards for the team.
  • "Dazzle" can be useful when attempting to acquire an enemy's equipped cards.
  • "Grudge" is particularly useful when New Fa Zheng receives multiple units of damage in one instance.
  • "Grudge" is not much of a deterrent if only one unit of damage is to be inflicted on New Fa Zheng, since the target chooses the hand card to be given. The target can simply give New Fa Zheng an unimportant card when they damage him.
  • When the target of "Dazzle" chooses to attack New Fa Zheng's target, New Fa Zheng does not draw any cards for that turn. Without this income of cards, New Fa Zheng may have trouble avoiding damage until his next turn.
  • New Fa Zheng is weak in one-on-one scenarios.

Notable Combinations:
  • Sun Shang Xiang/Ling Tong/New Ling Tong - New Fa Zheng can use "Dazzle" to let Sun Shang Xiang draw two cards then he can take two pieces of equipment from her to activate "Armed Consorts" twice, resulting in the drawing of four additional cards. Furthermore, Fa Zheng can activate "Grudge" to allow her to draw an additional card, resulting in a net increase of five cards for Sun Shang Xiang. The same logic applies to Ling Tong and New Ling Tong, though keep in mind that "Whirlwind" does not activate multiple times if multiple pieces of equipment are removed.
  • Guo Jia/Liu Bei//Lu Su - These characters can give New Fa Zheng multiple cards. New Fa Zheng can activate "Grudge" after these characters do this.
  • Ma Dai/Ma Chao/Xu Sheng/Lu Bu - These characters have abilities that make their Attacks more powerful. With New Fa Zheng's "Dazzle," he can allow them to attack more frequently.
  • Zhang Chun Hua - Zhang Chun Hua's "Unfeeling" prevents Fa Zheng from targeting her with "Grudge," as all damage that is caused by her is considered to be negligence damage. This robs Fa Zheng of his only defensive ability against her.
KingNew Fa Zheng seems to be a good king choice. He can use "Dazzle" and "Grudge" to help his loyalists draw more cards. Under the right circumstances, he can also use "Dazzle" to steal equipment from the rebels.
LoyalistNew Fa Zheng also seems to be a good loyalist pick. He can use his powers on the king to allow him to draw more cards.
RebelNew Fa Zheng is a good rebel pick. He can use his powers on his allies to increase the number of cards that the team has.
SpyNew Fa Zheng seems to be a serviceable spy. His best tactic would be to use "Dazzle" to acquire as much equipment as possible from the other characters. Then, use "Dazzle" and "Grudge" to help whichever side is at a disadvantage. New Fa Zheng has to be careful when using these abilities, however. If the target of "Grudge" chooses to use an Attack, New Fa Zheng will not draw any cards that turn. Additionally, New Fa Zheng needs to ensure that the king is very weak before killing the last rebel, as he will not fair very well in a one-on-one in an even battle.

Final Remarks:
While New Fa Zheng works well in all of the roles, we prefer the original Fa Zheng. New Fa Zheng seems to be better in team situations than his original counterpart, but he is not very interesting to use. We are puzzled that YOKA even felt the need to 're-vamp' Fa Zheng. He was very interesting and he was well-balanced. The fact that "Grudge" was enforced gave him a unique weakness. Now that the ability is not enforced, he is incredibly similar to Sima Yi and Xiahou Dun. It is also important to note that now that the target chooses the card to give to Fa Zheng, "Grudge" is a lot less powerful.

All gripes aside, using New Fa Zheng is usually straight-forward; simply target an ally with "Dazzle" with the understanding that they will not attack and simply let New Fa Zheng take two cards. New Fa Zheng then activates "Grudge" to allow them to draw one card. There are some cases in which deviation from this strategy is acceptable. If an opponent is low on health, "Dazzle" can be used to allow an ally to finish them off. Characters with Attack-related powers (like those mentioned in the 'Notable Combinations' section) may also benefit from playing an Attack when targeted by "Dazzle." Finally, in some select situations it may be useful to target an enemy with "Grudge." If you are confident that the target will not play an Attack on your selected target, you can take their equipment after activating this ability.
